External hard drive enclosure randomly disconnects

I have a Mediasonic H82-SU3S2 external enclosure. Most of the time, it works perfectly find. However, every now and then, it randomly disconnects from the USB port. Now, I got this specifically so that, if an external hard drive disconnected from my computer, it wouldn't loose power and I might loose the partition. I've lost partitions when internal hard drives suddenly loose power. As such, I found an external hard drive enclosure more reliable.

At this point, everything else is fine with my computer. As such, this is just a minor annoyance. However, seeing as how it's the only thing wrong with that computer, it'd be nice to be able to remedy it. My only guess as to why it happens is the same guess for when my internal hard drive would disconnect randomly. The hard drive gets so overworked that, for some inexplicable reason, it just decides to disconnect. I know it doesn't make sense. But, I can't figure what else it might be.

Try it in a different Usb port.
I went from an attached USB 3.0 HUB into a USB 3.0 PCI card I recently purchased. I still have that problem.
This thread from 2018 seems to solve the problem with a Mediasonic enclosure.

If you have a USB 2 port , plug it into that.
So, there might be a connection issue with USB 3? Hm. I was juggling eSATA and USB 3 trying to decide which was more efficient to use. I finally settled with USB 3 because eSATA would require a single eSATA port multiplying up to 8 drives. Price aside, I was having a hard time finding an eSATA card that would do that.

Anyways, I plugged it into a USB 2 port. Been keeping it under relatively heavy use for a few hours. It does not seem to be having any further connection issues. I guess we can chalk that up to an electronics non sequitur.
At Liz's link in post #4 there are some recommended Usb 3.0 hubs that seem to work ok and that would give you the faster speed of Usb 3.0

Ironically, I was using an ANKER USB 3.0 Hub to plug all 3 of my external enclosures into. I then purchased a USB 3.0 PCIe card in an attempt to reduce the amount of wiring:

At least one of the other two external enclosures seems to like it. I'll keep on playing musical chairs with the USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports to see what like what.
Good luck with it, let us know if you find a satisfactory configuration please.
I can't remember if I rewired my enclosures at 3pm or 5pm, making it 12 hours since I started the test. But, I'm going to call it and say that this fix worked. Even thought I have two Mediasonic H82-SU3S2 enclosures, which should make them twins, one can be plugged into a USB 3 port and not have issues while the other has to be plugged into a USB 2 port. 😑 Well, one way or another.
Ok, if you're sure you don't want to take it any further here please click on [Mark Solved] at the top of your page.

Well, seeing as how I was referenced to a webpage on another website, I suppose I can make the assumption that there's not too many answers out there as to how to resolve this, due to the final answer being somewhat of a non sequitur. As such, I'll consider it solved.
Seems a reasonable assumption. We are all volunteers here and we do our best to help but sometimes there is no easy or obvious solution.
