Hi.
My problem is that whenever i insert a CD/DVD/USB Drive/Floppy into my computer, my computer freezes up when i try to access the drive (or even when i open 'My Computer'. I've ran through Window's troubleshoot program, and i can't find any help there. I run AdAware, Spybot, and Avast! regularly, so i'm pretty sure that Spyware/Viruses arn't my problem.
If it matters, i run XP on a Dell.

Thanks a lot.

have you tried to check out in Device Manager if there are any conflicts? Anything with a Questionmark? You could delete those devices and Windows should find them the next time you start up.

Try not to start more than 1 thread about the same problem, if a thread gets burried like your other one did just post again in it to bring it to the top of the forum.

Unplug ALL USB devices.
Open Device Manager.
View, Show Hidden Devices.
Uninstall all devices under USB Controllers.
Uninstall all devices under Storage Volumes. Say no to any reboot prompts until you are finished. Also, if a Storage Volume doesn't uninstall, ignore it and move to the next one.
If you have a yellow ? with unknown devices, uninstall all of the entries there as well.

When this is done, reboot TWICE.

Reconnect the USB devices and see if they're recognized properly.
