I recently purchased an internal DVD-RW drive and was going to use it as an external drive using a drive enclosure. My question is is it possible to connect an external drive enclosure to a router and use it as a networked drive for all the computers on my network? The computers are networked wirelessly and I was thinking about wireing the drive to the router.

I really wouldn't recommend burning DVDs over a network anyway. At 16x (which is what the latest drives are at the moment) the drive is writing 21.6MB/sec, which is twice the peak bandwidth of a 100Mbit network. So you would need to use gigabit ethernet throughout your network for a start. It may be cheaper to buy a burner for each machine than to set up a gigabit network just to share a single burner ;) To make matters worse, the fastest wireless networking standard is only 54Mbit, anyway.
