If I let explorer.exe run it will use 100% of my CPU so nothing else can get done. I don't really know for sure if this has anything to do with Windows or not.

Sometimes I have to let it run to open certain programs (usually I just use the task manager). It doesn't usually start eating through my CPU right away...it has taken as long as a day to start doing it before.

I've googled this problem before with 0 success. I have formatted my C: and reinstalled Windows, but I did not format my other drive. This seemed to fix it for a couple weeks at least.

I've been dealing with it for a long time and it's not a huge deal, but it is annoying and I'd like to know how to fix it...as long as it isn't going to cost me anything.

I appreciate any help anybody can give me!
