When you have more than one person try to open an Excel file it gives you the "File in Use" locked for editing screen. Most of our PC's are imaged and then the user accounts are changed for deployment. However, even after all the data is changed it still always says that the user who has the file open is named "user". Does anyone know where I can change the name that comes up? It isn't in the popular section of Excel Options where there is a User Name field.

Welcome to the forum.

I do not recall if it uses your login info or your User Information. I want to say it uses your User Information. So you will want to change that within "Tools">>"Options." I am guessing you ghost the PCs or you type in User as the username when you are doing your manual installs.

Have you restarted the application after you made to the user information then double checked on a second PC again?
