Event log error code DCOM 10005

Problem: My desktop computer automatically shuts down and restarts immediately after Windows begins to boot up and reboots to the "start Windows in Safe mode." It will only start in safe mode without networking meaning it has no Internet connection. I believe the adaptor for the D-Link AirPlus Xtreme G DWL-132 Wireless USB Adapter Packet Scheduler Miniport might be corrupted and may be the cause of the failure of my computer to boot properly. When I try and uninstall the adapter, I get this message: "Failed to uninstall the device. The device may be required to boot up the computer."

The event log shows event number 10005 with the DCOM as the source. Windows tech support web site suggests uninstalling the TCP/IP to correct this issue.

I'm also getting an event error codes of 7001 and 7026 with the Service Control Manager as the source. All of these event log entries coincide with the commencement of this problem of Windows failing to boot normally.

Any ideas/suggestions?

Boot to safe mode, and runn this command from the CMD prompt:

netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt

Then run:

netsh winsock reset

Then reboot your computer into regular mode, and you should be OK.

This will reset TCP/IP and Winsocks...
