Ethernet Problems

489 Views 3 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Scheely
Hello,

I recently updated my windows 10 to version 21H1 and my ethernet stopped working. I ran the troubleshooter and it says that I need to install a driver for my network adapter. I went into device manager to look at the network adapter drivers and I only have WAN drivers installed, nothing to do with LAN. I have tried resetting winsock and network settings, I reinstalled windows 10 and tried to install a new adapter from Intel, but it comes up saying that because I have no driver it cannot install. I dont have a wifi card on the problem computer. I know all the ethernet cords work as I am using it on a laptop currently to post this. How can I get ethernet back to my pc?
Specs:
CPU: Ryzen 5 1400
GPU: gtx 1060
MB: Micro-Star A320M Pro VH-PLUS(MS-7B07)

Any help would be greatly appreciated

If you can use another PC, go here to download the Realtek driver for your nic, copy it to a flash drive, and then install it on the problem PC from there.
According to its support site, that MSI motherboard has a Realtek RTL8111H integrated gigabit ethernet device.

HERE is the direct download link for the Windows 10 64-bit driver (10.53.1001.2021) listed for it which was released about 2 months ago.

I went through this link and tried to install this, but in the installshield wizard it fails to download and says 'Realtek Network Controller was not found. If deep sleep mode is enabled please plug in the cable
