Ethernet not working

Hello, first time I have really needed help. I am pretty computer proficient, I have tried everything I know to do, I've tried basically everything I could find on the first page of google, but nothing has really solved my issue. My issue is that my ethernet connection simply will not work. In file explorer, on Network I can see the other devices on my network, so I am 100% still connected to my home network. The internet works fine on every other device, so I have no clue what's wrong. I have found a solution, but it only gives me about 5-10 minutes of internet, which is to reboot my router and restart my pc at the same time. Here is what I have tried:Basically every terminal command I can try, stuff like ipconfig flushdns, ipconfig renew, netsh winsock reset, netsh int ip reset, netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log, everything in that field. I've tried reinstalling my network drivers, updating network drivers, resetting my network settings, manually assigning an IP address, everything. I have no clue what to do to fix this, and I really need help. Any answers are greatly appreciated.
My motherboard, which my ethernet is connected to is a B450 Tomahawk Max

edit: I should also mention that when the internet works and doesn't, it always says "network connected", and windows basically doesn't notice that I'm not connected to the internet.

Are you connected by something else, maybe a wireless connection?

No, I don't have anything wireless on my pc, not even my peripherals.
edit: also I have a few different VPNs so I tried removing their disabling their network in the panel where you see all of your connections such as ethernet, and tunnels for virtual machines, and that didn't help either. I turned all of those off apart from the ethernet and it doesn't help

Make sure you remove the shielding on the LAN port

I don't think that's the problem, I've been using this pc (and ethernet cable) for about 2 years and there's never been issues.
It's still not completely clear to me what your exact problem is, but it certainly may be caused by a non-Windows firewall. And, a VPN sometimes acts as a firewall even when not opened.
If it simply stopped working after 2 years of use, then the ethernet port might have died. It is rare, but it happens.
You have two choices: install an internal NIC to replace the possibly bad ethernet port on the motherboard or buy a USB to ethernet adapter and try that.

An example of an external USB to ethernet adapter

If the computer has USB C, you'll need to look at a different adapter. Before you buy anything, read reviews.
