When shutting down, I receive a message saying Error reading A drive (abort, retry, fail) and it won't shutdown. I even tried putting a floppy in the drive and I get this message, (Your program caused a divide overflow error) and it just keeps scrolling that on the screen. Any suggestions?

I am running Windows 98se.

Yes, just gave a command prompt A:\
Typed in help at that prompt and it took me to the help files for doing a scandisk, system transfer, etc. Did not know what to do from this point though and just rebooted without the floppy.
Windows loaded okay and I tried to do a shutdown, again with the same thing happening.

Also, the fan is working okay.

Sorry about the lapse in time for responses. Thanks for any help you can give.
