Earlier today I came in the room to find my 4 year old playing on the computer. I dont know what she did but now my modem will not dial out on that computer. when I reboot I get a lot of strange messages by the way its windows 95. First I get:
Cannot find a device file that may be needed to run windows or a windows application.
The windows registry or system.ini refers to this device file but the device file no longer exists.

then I hit a key to continue and get the same message for TurboVCD.vxd

then when that screen clears every time I boot up and it has done this multiple times it says windows found new hardware installing software for it. AZT3011PnP Sound device, then the same thing for Sound 4 Winmodem, then it says windows is installing your modem but if I try to dial out it says error 633 modem not installed or configured.

Also when I clicked on sound 4 winmodem in control panel it said something about corrupted files being erased I dont know the exact error message...
and this just happened
the computer was dialing out fine this morning.

Hi,

Do you still have the original install disk for the modem? You can download these drivers and reinstall them but it's possible you might get ones that aren't compatible with it.

I was able to locate the manufacturer and model number of the modem after I opened the case and was able to locate the correct driver, but it still will not work. It tells me No modem com port defined. Run the configuration utility in the winmodem group and select a port. and I dont know how to do that. also there was another error that said something about the modem being unable to add its private data to the registryor something like that.

Also the network adaptor was deleted as well out of the device manager.I found that out after I got another error message when I tried to dial out. How do I reinstall that?
