Everytime I bootup, I recieve two error messages. The first message reads: "Cannot find the file 'fntldr.exe { or one of its components} Make sure the path and file name are correct and that all libraries are available. "

The second error message reads: "Could not load or run'fntldr.exe' specified in the win.ini file. Make sure the file exists on your computer or remove the reference to it in the win.ini file."

I looked for these entries in Explore, Registry, and in msconfig, but couldn't find any reference to them. Where can I find them, and how will I recognize them, and what can I do to correct this.

Help, please....I really am a Computer-Illiterate.

Thanks so much....

'fntldr.exe is part of a line added to win ini by a spyware/redirector is not good and you should download and update and run a program called ad-aware or spybot serarch and destroy from any legit download site like snapfiles.com or cnet download.com. Either one should fix this problem.

Run the program and let it do it's thing. Make sure to click on "Fix" and not scan only.

Then if you want post a HJT log.

Download Hijackthis.
Create a folder on your hard drive and save it there.
Unzip the file and extract it to the folder you have created.
Scan your machine, then click on Save Log.

Post a copy back here and someone will be happy to review it.

Don't make any changes until instructed to do so.
