hi all
I recently bought my computer a few days ago. I am using windows xp with service pack 2. When i serve online i keep getting this error message "no connection could be made because the target machine activetly refuse it (10061)", and i keep getting disconnect from my computer with that error message. I try reformatting my computer but it still gives me that error message for some reason. All I want to know is how do I get rid of that message.

When you say "serve online" I assume you mean some type of filesharing or something like that. If that's the case it looks like this error is related to the user trying to download something, or whoever you are trying to send it to. The part of the message that says "the target machine actively refused it" makes me think that a firewall blocked the connection or something, although I could be wrong.

After a little looking around, this may also be a problem with your firewall blocking the connection between your computer and the target computer.

Try fooling around with your firewall settings to see if you can get it working, or else turn your firewall off completely and see if it works.
