Hello Masters of Access

I have written a reservation program in Microsoft Access and when I open my form I get the following message "reserved error (-1517); there is no message for this error". At this point I can click ok or help When I click help it says "Reserved error <Item>; there is no message for this error. (Error 3000)
An unexpected error occurred. The specified code identifies the conditions under which this error can occur. Please contact Microsoft Product Support Services for more information."

I have shut down and done a compact and repair but it keeps coming back

Any help?

Has it always done this or did this just start happening? What version(s)?

MBN
Any pattern to which machines throw the error? Have you made any changes to the prog?

...and do you have any backups that you might be able to use for comparison purposes, or better yet, replacement?

MBN
Something had to have changed two days ago....any changes to structure, etc?

Another thing to consider trying, extract data added in the last two days and append it to an older version and see what happens. Is it possible there is some corrupt data in there?

That HAD been working fine...is it no longer working? Found this in MSKB regarding email in Access:

I realize it doesn't conform exactly to your error....but hey, it's a start....maybe take a look at your macro again...possibly disable it, to get it working....
here's another one, pertains to reserve errors, looks again like it may revolve around your new macro:

okay, did a search on "reserved error" (without quotes), all products, in MSKB and came up with a few possibilities, I suggest you take a look at all of them...I can't be/get more specific because, on this side, we just don't have enough info on the structure/changes on your dbase.

But post back with anything else...I'm curious too....

MBN
From what I understand, it compacts the entire system, tables included.
WOOHOOOOO!

but....question: how is this dbase distributed?
yup...

doesn't really explain how the error popped up...hmmmmm, interesting...
