Error Doctor adds errors

A medieval treatment.
In an attempt to try Error Doctor, I found as a result that this program deleted or corrupted E-Mail Quick links between Word 2003 and Explorer to Outlook 2003. As I soon expected that Error Doctor caused this problem I tried it’s restore option.
The program found 230 errors! (Quick Links) in the registry treating them as non vital and removed them. The restore function of this program was not capable to restore all of the deleted links including the previous problem. Since I never allow a register clean program to run in automatic mode and always store a backup of the entire OS, I restored in ten minutes the original settings with this backup.
This proves again: Register cleaners are a most dangerous kind of software and could destroy your entire PC even to the point that you can’t restart, or the PC shuts off suddenly damaging any running application. Before starting a register cleaner Make a system restore point, backup all deleted key’s, store a complete BU of your OS. Be 100% sure that you have a tested set of diskettes or a rescue CD to restore the OS BU. And run a chkdsk on this diskettes, because if these diskettes fail due to a read error you won’t be able to restore your valuable BU.
In this case and in there own language, I would stretch-out that: The drain with a bloodsucker was worse than the presumed disease.

One other thing is that a program is written and is presumed to be able to run on all computers. A lot of people believe this to be true, but unfortunately it is not and if you have no backup of your system and this or any other program trash your system to the point that the data is not recoverable you then find out how important backups are. I applaud you on your making a backup before the running of this program.

Good Job.

Hello ozrom1e

Thank you for your reply
Yes, many people are not Hygienic enough to there PC and run into trouble by not supporting themselves with regular backup’s.
I have seen so many crashes because of this damned reg. cleaners that I don’t use them in fact unless I have to remove a nasty file or a peace of garbage because windows and programs does not clean up there registers. It’s so difficult to distinguish between a to be deleted or a vital key.
Many times it’s excessive numbers in code hide the applications purpose.
It’s a hell of a task to reinstall the whole OS and activation of programs. With a backup you save yourself a lot of work.
