Error All USB Ports Write Protected

832 Views 1 Reply 2 Participants Last post by  plodr
No matter what I plug into my laptops usb ports and go to to move a file or copy a file I now get the error code that the device is write protected. WE have 2 external hard drives we back up stuff on daily and usb sticks for music and none of them are actually write protected or have a switch to write protect them. There were all working just fine last week and now no matter what I plus in, this happens. I have tried every solution possible on the internet to remove write protection on each usb device but nothing works, nor are the devices actually write protected as stated. PLEASE HELP! Thanks in advance!

It would helpful if you briefly posted what you've tried so no one wastes time giving solutions that you have tried.

You also need to post: the brand and exact model of the laptop, and what version of Windows is installed.

Have you tried using a restore point or restored an image when the devices were working?
