Hello all, I am glad to find this place thanks to PC Mag! I am trying to find someone that knows what the heck is going on with my PC, hope to find that person here! :D

Let me start by giving all the facts that will help me to get help. I am running XP Home. I used to have Office 2000 premium which had FrontPage2000 included. I since then purchased Office 2003 standard & I purchased a new FP2000 separately as my web host doesn't support FP2003 server extensions yet. (BTW the new FP2000 is legal; it is not burned or copied) I have been running Office 2003 programs, the new FP2000, and my Record Now software (CD burning program that came with my PC) for a few months with absolutely no trouble, until now.

This is what I get every time I open FP2000, Record Now, and sometimes, not too often, word or excel 2003 programs. It didn’t used to do it AT ALL with the FP until I uninstalled it and re-installed thinking I could resolve the conflict with the Record Now software. The Windows installer starts to install Microsoft Front Page 2000 SR-1 and gives me the message: Please wait while Windows configures Microsoft FrontPage 2000 SR-1 Then it will give me the next message prompting me to insert my FP 2000 SR-1 CD. I have to just keep hitting the cancel button until it gives up and lets me have my program. I have also tried inserting my FP disc and it always comes back giving me an error code (usually 1919 ODBC Data source error or 1706 no valid source found for FP windows installer cannot continue) BUT then the software starts, works fine, and all information in tact.

Anyone have any ideas as what I can try to resolve this issue? It is not hurting anything but it is annoying.

Thanks in advance! ;) Rebecka

Well shoot, I did everything in those articles and all seemed to take good, but when I rebooted and tried to run either FP or RecordNow I got that same windows installer thingie! I Guess I just have to live with hitting cancel 10 times when I run either one of those programs.
Thanks very much for your help anyway though
:)
