During computer boot up, I always get the Microsoft dialog box which says "ENTER NETWORK PASSWORD".
I'm not on any network and have high speed connection to Bell Sympatico. How do I delete this dialog box so that I don't have to enter a password every time ?

Click on Start>Settings>ControlPanel>Network. At the bottom of the box you'll see a drop down box labeled "Primary Network Logon". Select "Windows Logon", click on OK and follow the prompts.

Let us know what happens.

BTW, once the Network Logon prompt is eliminated at startup, also be sure you are truly still logging into Windows. To check do this,

Click on the Start button and on the StartMenu that appears you should see an entry for "Log Off...". If there is a User Name next to "Log Off ...", then your fine. If there's no UserName next to "Log Off", let us know.

Dear Bryan,

Followed your explicit instructions and the follow-up check that I am truly logged on to Windows.

Seems to have worked a treat - the user name next to "Log Off" is "John" and my computer re-started without showing that darn dialog box !

Thanks a lot - You TS Guys are great !

John (Illicraw)
