Is it possible to have a FUNCTION within the SELECT portion of a SQL string. MID, LEFT, and RIGHT all work OK. If it is possible, how do you create the string with the FUNCTION in it ?

Did you try something like:

SELECT LEFT(MyTable.MyField, 5)
FROM MyTable

Yes LEFT, RIGHT, and MID functions work ok. I am trying to embed a function I created and am having no luck .
