Hi,

Quick question-

I have a GAteway FPD2185W, which has DVI-D and I plan to get a Nvidia/BFG GeForce 7600 or 7900, both of which have DVI-I. The DVI-D is digital only, and the DVI-I is both analog and digital. Is it possible to get a cable with a DVI-D on one end and a I on the other? Or will DVI-D cables fit into DVI-I sockets? Will the configuration work?

Hi Frank
When you get your Nvidia GPU there is an adapter that takes you from digital to analog. But I would check it out with your supplier first,My memory is not that good now.
Good look

DVI-I cables contain both DVI-I and DVI-D signals, so a DVI-I cable will work for both. Your problem is really 1) does the monitor have an input menu selection whether to use analog or digital input (your Gateway link doesn't work)? And 2) whether the graphics card needs to select digital or analog output (usually doesn't matter as most output both)?
