dvd-rw: master (lite-on 811s)

Delll Poweredge server 400sc
Everytime I put in a disk on either drive, it freezes and on the dvd-rw it does not find any data. Acording to lite-on, the dvd-rw driver is whatever xp loads. Everything is ok in device manager. What else can I check.
This problem is happening on a fresh windows xp install. NEW COMPUTER.
