Just recently I have had a problem duplex printing 6 or more pages in MS Word 2003. The second page prints upside down. I have been in Microsoft’s discussion group and no one has answered my post. I am using Windows XP. I am able to duplex print in other programs with no problem and have gone through troubleshooting with the printer. We have determined it is MS Word that has the problem.

I appreciate any help you could give me.

Thank you.

Just a thought and worth me asking you.

I have an HP 970cxi with auto duplexing and have never had a problem.

If you click on the following menu choices - File, Print, Properties, Features (assuming they use the same sort of menu structure for your HP printer), you should have a 2 sided printing option. Did you make sure the book option was selected ? If Tablet was selected you will get the printing as you described it. Below is a short explanation of the Book versus Tablet options.

Book

Prints using both sides of the page, with the binding along one side of the book. Selecting portrait or landscape page orientation determines the book's edge. The normal one to use.

Tablet

Prints using both sides of the page, with the binding along the top of the pages. This option reverses the back side of the page so that the pages can be read calendar-style.
