Hi Folks, I have got an AMD processor 2.4+ GHz andAsus A7N8X-X Motherboard. I have recently realized that during boot up it shows 1.8 GHz it used to show 2.4 GHz. I dont know what happened, does it mean that my pc is running at 2.4 or 1.8 as it is displayed during boot up, how can i correct it?

Where does it show 1.8G? at boot screen or in system properties?
Usually its in the bios. you would need to change the FSB to 200MHz X 12

that mobo is a socket a, the fastest processor was the xp 3200 which ran at 2.2 as far as i remember

that would be correct but boy do those XP3200 overclock well. had 3 of them and they was sweet. matter of fact I still have one that I never overclocked but still back in the closet.
