I never select this when i format, it is to me a useless file. It has some compatibility issue with kazaa that I have been unable to solve. After using kazaa, everytime I even close a folder, Dr Watson runs and restats my explorer.exe (despite their being no error for it to do so).
I would dearly love to have this trash OFF my computer, but Windows has it as a 'protected' file. When I delete it, Windows puts it back. I'd like to know a way to uninstall/remove it permanently.
Any and all help greatly appreciated.

It would be better to uninstall Kazaa.

I use kazaa, often. Only for music, but it is a program I willingly installed.
DrWatson is a waste of space, and a program I do not want or use, and specifically don't want on my computer. Had I the option of not installing it with Windows, I would have done so. The option doesn't exist, but there must be a way to remove it completely. I'm not about to uninstall program(s) I want and use, for something that's unnecessary and unwanted.
If you know a way to remove it, I'd appreciate knowing, thanks.

I doubt that you will get help here in uninstalling Dr. Watson in order to use Kazaa. TSG does NOT support Kazaa or other illegal file sharing programs.

OMG! Even in a Tech Support Forum, there's always SOME "holier then thou" person that thinks they know everything.
Not that it's ANY of your business, but I live in Canada, where file sharing IS legal. So sayeth our supreme court. I wasn't asking you for your opinion on the software or it's legality, which is a good thing since you're information is out of date and incorrect. File Sharing Legal In Canada
Secondly, I came here with a problem regarding a WINDOWS application, which is exactly the purpose of these forums as stated in the forums Description and Title. My reasons, and/or the problems this application are causing, are irrelevant, it remains a WINDOWS application I am asking about. I did NOT come here asking about an auxilary Non-Windows installed application.
And finally, I don't see where it says 'Moderator' or 'Administrator' beside your name, so don't speak on behalf of something you don't represent directly.

If there is anyone that can offer help regarding DrWatson, I would appreciate it, thanks.

First I will attempt to clarify cassandra's position(and mine incidently)

1)stated in the forum rules:The purpose of P2P is to illegally trade copyrighted material.
1a)AS stated in the post by cassandra: I live in Canada, where file sharing IS legal.
1b)Article supporting cassandra's assertion can be found here:
http://news.com.com/2100-1027_3-5182641.html

2)Stated in forum rules: We do not support the use of P2P networks and any threads requesting help for them will be closed
2a) A natural outgrowth (and proper response) based on the fact that P2P file sharing is in fact illegal...in the United States.

3)Stated in forum rules:If you're interested in the topic, you are free to discuss it on our site
3a)As stated in the post by cassandra:I did NOT come here asking about an auxilary Non-Windows installed application.(Kazaa)
3b)As stated in the post by cassandra:I came here with a problem regarding a WINDOWS application,(Dr Watson) which is exactly the purpose of these forums as stated in the forums Description and Title

4)Stated in forum rules:information on how to use them (P2P networks) will not be provided.
4a)Once again check 3a and 3b above:3a)I did NOT come here asking about an auxilary Non-Windows installed application.(Kazaa)
:3b)I came here with a problem regarding a WINDOWS application, which is exactly the purpose of these forums as stated in the forums Description and Title.(Dr Watson)

5)The INFORMATION provided in the link included in the forum rules DOES NOT APPLY in this case as P2P file sharing IS NOT ILLEGAL IN CANADA

6)I will not presume to speak for cassandra,or anyone else who uses P2P file sharing programs, but personally, should P2P file sharing become illegal in Canada,I will stop using it and in the mean time I will respect the forum rules ie:information on how to use them (P2P networks) will not be provided.

In any case, the question cassandra asked in her post was specifically:"I'd like to know a way to uninstall/remove it (Dr Watson) permanently.

Cassandra,I don't think there is a way to uninstall Dr Watson but you can try this:

How to Disable Dr. Watson for Windows

Go to:

Hkey_local_machine/Software/Microsoft/Windows NT/Current Version/Aedebug

Click on and edit the debugger value delete the text in the popup box referring to Dr. Watson followed by some values which look like: drwtsn32 -p %ld -e %ld -g

Click on OK

Dr. Watson is now disabled

4. Disabling Dr. Watson via the GUI Interface:

If you want to disable Dr Watson via the GUI Interface, you can do the following:

a. From the NT start menu Run command, type in: drwtsn32.exe

b. Clear all check marks from Options boxes.

c. This will disable Dr. Watson from running

"Stated in forum rules: We do not support the use of P2P networks and any threads requesting help for them will be closed"

I run my own site, we also have rules. Unlike some, I read the rules to these forums and agreed to them, before I participated. I wouldn't then turn around and ignore them. As a site owner myself, I'm more then well aware that certain rules and protocals must be followed. What seemed to be overlooked by some that replied to my original question, was the fact I specifically asked about a Windows Application, and nothing else. The reasons behind my question are irrelevant to the fact this forum is designed to assist people with questions/problems concerning Windows and/or it's applications and my question was exactly that.
Also, as with 'Rude', should the courts decide something was illegal, I would immediately cease activity in that area. I highly resent someone questioning my ethics because their information was out of date, and deciding my legitimate question was unworthy of anyone else's help, quoting rules I did not break, for something that had nothing to do with my question in the first place.
I've posted questions here before, and always been appreciative of the support I've received. I host several files on my own paid domains specifically linked in these forums to try to help those that need them. (Example) I believe these forums fill a very big void and are a godsend to people that have nowhere else to turn, and need solutions to thier problems phrased in ways they can understand.

Rude, thank you for your help. I have unchecked the boxes through the GUI interface, and I hope this solves the problem. There's a couple of applications DrWatson just doesn't seem to be compatible with. One of my chat scripts uses java, and one of my media players, both these things also seem to trigger DrWatson, which then restarts my explorer.exe with no reason listed in my Event Viewer. I usually have time to End Process and stop it, but not always. There's never been any ill effects from stopping DrWatson from restarting my explorer.exe and there's never a listed reason as to why it did so. I simply failed to see any reason to have it as an active application on my computer, and that, and that alone, was the purpose of asking my question. Thank you for your time in answering it, it is appreciated. :)
