Tonya what version of IE? is it 5 or 5.5 or 6 or what? You could update IE or Maybe you need to run the fix... go to " add / remove " & as you would uninstall it .. you will be asked if you want to uninstall or repair... choose repair.

Hi Tonya,

First, do this:

Shut down Internet Explorer and Outlook Express.
Go to Control Panel/Internet, and clear your temporary Internet Files.
Click on Settings/show files, and delete all cookies there.
Now go to the Advanced tab, and click Restore Defaults.
Go to the Security tab/internet, and click restore defaults there as well.

Go to Start/Find/files or folders, and search for a file called HOSTS (not HOSTS.SAM which is a sample file).
If you find it, open it and delete all web page entries.

If that doesn't fix it, you may have a duplicate or damaged wsock32.dll file. Make sure you have only one copy (in ..\windows\system). If it is there, extract a fresh copy using system file checker: How to extract files in Windows 98 and Windows Me

Good luck,

And you're saying you ran Repair, and 'nothing's working'.

Please define 'nothing', for this is a little vague...

Did you manage to run IE repair, and did Windows report it couldn't be repaired, and you had to run Setup again?

In that case, you sometimes just need to restore one or two Windows files in order to be able to complete it.

Please give us some more details.
