Downloading lags

I use a download manager (Flashget v1.40) and I notice that in most attempts files stop downloading after 60kb-110kb. I can resume downloading these files without further delay, but only after waiting a period of time (generally between 10 - 40 minutes). What could be causing this - Flashget, my ISP, or the host sites themselves?

Hi carp

I doubt whether it's flashget - I've used flashget for a couple of years now, and if the d'load starts, it usualy finishes ok (some sites don't allow d'load managers) the site could be slow or if you are using a proxy then this could definately be the reason

steam
I was hoping that there was ONE common reason behind this problem as it never used to occur. Anyway, suggestions noted and appreciated. Thanks for feedback cvk01, $teve and steamwiz.
