Hello,
I installed a beta version of WIndows Vista that I received from my work about 2 months ago. It's been on my system ever since, but I have no audio. I haven't been able to find a driver that I can get for the audio on my motherboard. Apparently, it doesn't exist yet.
Well, I am finding out a lot of things I have just are not compatible with it, and I was wondering if there was anyway that I could go from Vista back to XP.
I am worried that I am going to have to completely reformat my PC to do this, and I really want to try to avoid that.
Any suggestions?

I think your worst fears are going to be confirmed, it's time for a clean format. :)

Well, the prudent thing to have done would been to image that machine before you put on Vista, but since you did not, the only way to get XP back is with a clean install as JohnWill said.

How did you install? If you installed onto another partition/HD, then you should still have the XP installation intact and it (should have) setup a dual boot option. If you have installed over XP, then you can copy and paste the documents folder to a safe place. Anything you have written or copied into that folder will then be fully recoverable. In Vista the folder is in Users/(your user account)/ and is called "Documents" . If you have added to your address book, this is also under the same account and "Contacts" Other than that, the advice in previous postings is about the best - reinstall. As a matter of interest, what was your Audio system. If you had posted earlier someone may have been able to point you to a solution. If you want to try again. Just remamber to install XP first and then Vista on a separate partition or HD. It will setup a dual boot and you will still have a full function XP.
