Another problem with my system.
Double clicking on the shortcut icons on the desktop wont work. Though folders, mp3 files and likealikes work. Even .exe works.
Only Shortcuts not working. Though on right clicking and opening, they work.

One more thing is, when i go to start>>programs and click on ANY program for it to start, that also doesnt work. The start menu simply vanishes or say minimizes. Though, when i right click and open them, they work.

Both these problems are since pretty long time, but now i think experts here can solve this, so posted the problem.

Regards. :)

try using SYSTEM RESTORE tool to return your system to its previous state.

if you havent done so already.

If system restore doesn't work, then try this:

Start> Run> type: regsvr32 /i shell32.dll then hit OK.
A message tells you if the command worked. Then reboot your computer and see if it helped.
