Windows 10

List of disks/volumes is blank in Disk Management. What is going on?

Diskpart > list disk
There are no fixed disks to show.

sfc /scannow shows no errors.
check disk shows no errors.

OK, all we know about your system is that you have windows 10. Post ALL of your exact system specs; ie exact mb, exact ram, etc, etc, etc. Do not post "500W pw supply" Post the exact brand and model# Do that for ALL of your parts. If this is a big box system ie dell, hp, whatever, post the exact brand and model#

Next did this system come with win10 OR did you do an inplace upgrade?

Post a screenshot of disk management. If you do not know how to post a screenshot;
1 With the relevant window open, hit the Print Scrn key
2 Open paint, irfanview or whatever image program you want
3 Click edit>paste
4 Save the image as a jpeg and upload it here by clicking the upload file button in your thread.
Thank you for your reply. Here are computer details and a Disk Management screenshot:

Just wondering. Are you using an account with admin priv to access disk mgmt?
I ask because my company tablet with win10 does the same thing. It is because we common folk are not allowed to changed anything.
Is this by chance an employer supplied system?
Hi. This is my personal laptop which I purchased for home use. No one else has access to it and I have an admin account w/ full privileges.
Update: I am soooo confused. Disk Management has been like the above screen shot for days, even after restarting system. However, I just restarted it again -- it was EXTREMELY slow to restart even though fast boot is selected -- and all of a sudden Disk Management is normal but the icons I'd pinned to the start menu are deleted and control panel will not open. CPU is 50% with no programs open.... Does it sound like I have a computer virus????
You might. Post a hijack log in the security section OR just post your question there. Someone who does security type stuff can advise you on how to proceed.
Thank you for your replies! -- much appreciated. I will post a hijack log in the security section.
Since it's been posted in the Virus & Other Malware Removal forum, I'll close this thread.
