I couldn't find any similar posts so here it goes....
Lately, I have been getting "Disk Full" messages and then up pops the disk clean-up utility. This usually occurs when I am decompressing a zip file or something similar to that.

I tried to unzip a 60MB file while having 3.1GB free on a 20GB hard drive. It still says disk full. My swap file cant be that big! Last week, I got rid of a W95.Space virus with Norton 2002 AV. Now, I am wondering if the damage has been done and I'm stuck with it. If someone can has any tips or links to previous posts please advise!

I got:
W98SE
P3-600
320MB RAM
No background programs running....
Couldn't find any large unexpected files on hard drive.....
Norton didn't have any other hits.....

BTW, Excellent forum!

I didn't think something like a simple scandisk would work.
However, it found and repaired several misreported cluster sizes and unknown clusters. Almost 1GB was reclaimed and another 2GB was found wrongly sized.

Thanks for the advice Savy.

hey BrianHed,

Running scandisk and the defragger will 'find' that unused space. I always do both at the beginning of the month along with disk cleanup and Nortons Antivirus.

On a side note, I always run the defragger in safe mode.
