I have a Sony Vaio running windows 10. While I was messing with photos, my computer completely froze & could not resolve anything. I shut it down & rebooted. The Vaio screen will come up, then immediately switch to a black screen with "A disk read error o curred
Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart" . The typo in the quoted phrase is exactly what is on my screen. Pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del just leads to the same result. The spelling error had me thinking this was more of a virus or malware issue than an actual disk read issue. Has anyone else seen this?
I still can't find anything on this online anywhere. It is a little hard to trust that this isn't a virus or something, the misspelling seems a bit suspicious. Please help!
Update, for what it is worth: I finally made it into setup & was able to change the boot priority. All it did was move the spelling error to "A disk error occurred Press Ctrl+Alt+Del o restart".
fyi, you have posted in the virus and malware removal section, and that eliminates about 95% of the general populace from posting a reply. You want this moved to the W10 forum?
