disabling the "tick" sound

hey I find that tick sound which comes on each time u reload a page, click on a link etc extremely annoying. Is there any way to disable it?

Go to Sounds in control panel and click on Asterick, then click on the right arrow by preview and see if this is it. If it is scroll up to the top of the list under name and click none and apply\ok. If that isn't it try the others.

That one is called chord.wav. You can assign any sound to any item so you could really have them all sounding alike. You can also get wavs off the net and assign them under browse for whatever you want. I like my mail notification to be a little different.

thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, I can't locate the "tick" sound among all the alerts.

Anyone other ideas?

Control Panel > Sounds. In list of Events look for Start Navigation

Put a .wav file of your choice here. Or if you prefere, don't keep any file here. No sound will be played.
