When I was using XP, it was a simple matter to burn photos onto a CD. You selected the photos, inserted a CD-R or CD-RW and hit the burn button. But with VISTA the CD must first be formatted. The formatting takes forever and often the disk has been kicked out with an error message. It is so bad that I will drive 60 miles to my sister's home to us her XP to burn CDs if I have several.

Can anyone explain LOGICALLY [and with MS, logic may not rule-the-day] 1) what is happening with VISTA to require "formatting" and 2) is there anyway to go back to the more simpler way of buring with VISTA similar to XP? Or am I "stuck" with VISTA???

Thanks, Haddonfield
