well i have both a C and a D drive in which i save my files on, and suddenly today as i started up my computer, i noticed it was EXTREMELY slow and it could not find the locations to some of my desktop shortcuts. i opened MyComputer, tried to access my D drive, and got this message: "The disk in drive D is not formatted. Do you want to format it now? Yes / No." i clicked no because i really can not afford to lose the files on the harddrive... however i have checked the harddrive properties, and it says that there are 0 bites of space on it, and also the troubleshoot button is not working.

summed up, my D drive is not accessable, and my computer is much much slower then normal.

can someone PLEASE help me?

i have ran adaware, which has detected nothing, and i am in the process of downloading and running avg.

if anyone can help i would truly, greatly appreciate it.

do not install avg when you already have mcaffee as it will cause problems

I somehow doubt this is malware & more likely to be a flat motherboard battery

I will move this to hardware so they can talk you through that and any other possibilities

easy stuff first:
does the d drive show up in the bios?
reseat all your drive and power cables

dont mess around to much with the d drive, it may be dieing, and the more you try to make it run the less chance of data recovery. You also may have a bad ide channel socket on your mb
