Hmm, seems that dad was screwing around with the puter and does not no what he did. I see the mem test, then the 95 logo then the desktop comes on but it is a bunch of lines and the pointer is lines as well. It is not the video card, that is the one the monitor plugs into right? I put a new one in and the same problem occurs. any ideas anyone please???

do you have access to another monitor that you could try?

also check that all of your internall connections are ok.
