Considering purchase of a Dell projector. Anyone have experience with them? Any opinions about which is better, a 2200 or 3300MP?

I don't really need the higher resolution offered by the 3300MP. Is the higher average 300 lumen output worth the additional $800 cost?

No...not necessarily. Specs on projectors must be used only as a guideline. Manufacturers tend to inflate these figures. There are many, and I mean many other factors to consider when choosing the right projector for your needs.colorado97 said:

It will be used mostly for demonstrations/instruction, including PowerPoint presentations, web pages, and other miscellaneous content.

In other words, for business applications.
In this price range, there are two technologies.....DLP and LCD. Both have their pros and cons. The Dell is a DLP projector. You have to decide which technology best fits your needs. There are sooooo many things to consider when purchasing one of these things, I really don't know where to start.
Before you spend the money on the Dell, I would suggest you go here and take the time to learn about these things. This is a very active board with many hobbyists on it.
Front Projection is becoming a big thing, especially in the home theater segment. Projectors are wonderful things. Just make sure you get exactly what you need.
