This laptop will not turn on without the a/c cord attached. the computer turns off the minute it gets unplugged. the battery constantly says its at 99% and charging. the light where the computer charges continually flashes from green to yellow erratically.
i've run antivirus software, what do i do next??

It actually sounds like you have a bad battery. Just like any battery they tend to get old. I would suggest trying a different battery and seeing if it works.

Thanks, i didnt want to think that was what i had to do. The computer is 6 months old.

Howdy folks...

What you might try is to power down the laptop, unplug the AC power, then remove the battery. Let it set about 20~30 min, plug the battery back in and AC power and see if the charge light still flashes from green to yellow...
