Hello everyone, for some weeks now my PC has become very slow deleting or moving in Explorer and deleting or moving on the desktop. I have used all the software I could find to give it a good scub but nothing seems to work. Any ideas what I can try next? Thanks in advance. :)

I have tuneup utility running which performs a weekly sweep and I have magical defrag 2 which looks after my defraging. I have run malwarebytes and super spy sweeper, I am behind Eset NOD32 can't think of anything else to try. What do you recommend?

Don't post a HijackThis log as an attachment because it can't be viewed that way. You need to copy-and-paste it. I've copied-and-pasted your log here so it can be viewed.

You have uTorrent installed and running, so it's unknown what you've downloaded with it and how infected it's gotten your computer.

There are way too many programs running in the background, and I don't see the real purpose of having several of them.

How much RAM is in that computer?

Unless you're using the 64-bit version of XP, 4 GB of RAM is overkill. Your computer is likely recognizing only 3 GB or slightly over that amount.

----------------------------------------------------------------

I suggest that you decide which programs and utilities that you don't really need in that computer and then do some "housecleaning".

---------------------------------------------------------------

If you want to research and trim down the startup load in:

Start - Run - MSCONFIG - OK - "Startup" tab

Start - Run - SERVICES.MSC - OK

These 2 sites:

http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php?type=&filter=&count=100&offset=0

http://www.blackviper.com/WinXP/servicecfg.htm (use the "safe" column as a starting point.)

will assist you greatly.

Something else to do(if it's never been done or hasn't been done in along time) is to clean out the buildup of temp files.

Open these 2 Temp folders:

C:\WINDOWS\Temp

C:\Documents And Settings\(Username)\Local Settings\Temp

then delete everything from inside those Temp folders. It's all junk and it's a good place for a "nasty" to hide.

If a few files resist getting deleted, leave them there and delete everything else.

Empty the Recycle Bin and then restart.
