Hi,

I meant to delete Windows messenger, but ended up deleting Outlook and my internet explorer. I tried system restore, but that did not work. I am able to get onto the internet with exlporer through other programs on my computer, but the main explorer icon is missing from my desktop and startup toolbar on the bottom left of my screen. I'm most concerned about outlook as there was a rather large mailing list there. Your help is much appreciated. I'm not very techie, so please answer in simple terms. Thanks!!!!

Hi,
Please have a look at this link that comes from TechSupportAlert. The following comments come from that site. If you are not sure please wait for someone more experienced than me to guide you.
" Best Free Windows Toolbar Backup
Inexperienced PC users just always seem to be losing their Windows and Internet Explorer toolbars. I've never quite worked out exactly how they do it but they sure manage it somehow. Luckily, this free utility makes recovery a snap.

I hope this helps.

Try this first:
Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, and on left Windows Components. Put checkmark into IE if not there and reboot. If it is just the icon missing, then go Start, Programs, Accessories, Windows Explorer, My Computer, C drive,Program Files, IE and right click IE.exe and choose create shortcut...then drag to desktop.
Same thing for Outlook except under Ms Office, Office 11 or whatever version you are using. You didn't lose files I am sure, just deleted the icons somehow is all.

As Rich indicates, it appears that if was just icons that you deleted. Especially if IE still starts.

If you haven't emptied the Recycle bin, they "should" still be there to be restored.
