I knew there had to have been some one to see Bush's duty while in the Guard.
I'm suprised none of my Kerry hating buds have missed this. I forgot about this site
and only recently realized they had the 'proof' on GW's service.
Now please bare with me on this. Some of these character witnesses are certainly unique and I had to edit their statements for the
concerns of the tender ears of the youth at TSG.
From the Whitehouse: ( http://www.whitehouse.org/news/2004/021104.asp that is :D )

DEFUSING AWOLGATE: TEN ETHICALLY SPOTLESS WITNESSES CORROBORATE DETAILS OF PRESIDENT BUSH'S STORY OF HOW HONORABLY HE EVADED VIETNAM
Statement by the Press Secretary
MR. MCCLELLAN: Good afternoon. Recent days have seen the ferocious re-emergence of AWOLgate as a major factor in President Bush's approval ratings nosedive. As Press Secretary, I must tell you boys and girls of the corporate media machine how disappointed the President has been watching you arrogantly shimmy out of the handsome patent leather submission harnesses he worked so hard to charm you in to back during the 2000 campaign. In short, your appalling impudence has been noted, and your punishments are forthcoming.

But in the meantime, today I am pleased to announce that the White House is taking decisive action to once and for all put to rest all those nagging facts which paint a vivid, historically accurate picture of the President having skipped out on his sweetheart post in the Air National Guard. Specifically, we are pleased to release the following eyewitness statements from persons in and around the Alabama National Guard headquarters, any one of which would prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that our Godly President was not evading Vietnam with honor and dignity.

First up is:

Cptn. Tom Stryker:
Oh yes, I absolutely, positively remember Lieutenant George W. Bush. Specifically, I remember him buzzing the control tower back in July of 1972. Why it stands out in my mind so clearly is that he wasn't even in a plane.
I am concerned about the Captain's rather cryptic remarks. :(
I hope there is nothing there to distort the image of GW's patriotic service.

Next up on the list:

Lt. Col. John Johnson:
All this rattletrap about Lt. Bush not showing up in 1972 is nonsense. He didn't just show up on weekends; he was there every day. Well, until the end of his sentence. I never saw him after he was escorted from my brig.
Huh...... well, that would place him in the area at least :)

I have no idea who this guy is but he looks vaguely familiar( actually I thought he was dead, wonder how Bush got a statement from him? )

Col. Mike Kirby:
Me and GWB saw some heavy sh*t in the 'Nam, Pilgrim. Right there on the TV at Rawhide's Truck-n-Beer off I-65. Once on CBS I watched this ***** boy get offed by a ****, and I snapped – but ol' Crazy Horse Bush was there t'cradle my head, shake his fist, and swear if Charlie ever set foot in 'Bama – we'd Napalm the [email protected] just like the handbook says.
Now that's a brave man ...........:)

Wow, I didn't know my hero even knew GW! This is a very special man who knew how to keep his mouth shut. :D
Wonder what made him come out of the shadows at this late stage?

G. Gordon Liddy:
Sure I remember him. In 1972, I was collaborating intimately with President Nixon and Dick Cheney and George's dad on matters of urgent political security. And whenever duty required I patronize the Birmingham Radio Shack, George would pick me up in a hotwired motor pool Jeep, and we'd kick back a few while discussing campaign ethics.
Hmmmmm?...........

Well, I guess there's the human side to GW.
All's I can say is, guess he's not gay.......

Ms. Velvet LaBouche:
Oh sure I knew George Bush in Alabama. He was always around the house in 1972. In fact, all the girls missed him so much when he left for Harvard, we made up a little rhyme to remember him by: "Georgie Porgie, pudding and pie, serviced us gals till our cooters went dry. When Madame Sophie collected the tab, Georgie Porgie was teeming with crabs!"

Yeah, well........I wouldn't have used her as a character witness

I just don't know on this one.
I'm suprised that an officier of GW's caliber
would hang with the enlisted to begin with

Pvt. Pablo Cocaczar:
Oh yeah, I remember that dude in Alabama. I was like way broke, but the base C.O. kept me on latrine duty for like five years, right? But then that hombre Bush shows up, and I made enough money to buy a new El Dorado on all the blow he scored from me. He'd do this funny thing where he'd put a pretzel rod through the hole where his septum used to be!
Hey, this guy looks familiar too, and he hasn't been seen either for a long time...............what the.......?

I have no idea who this is. The photo even looks phony.
This is embarassing. I double checked the list and there is no Jones , at least.

Maj. Steven Smith:
I just don't understand all these people who have no recollection of Lt. Bush being here in Alabama. I, for one, specifically remember him reporting for duty on a regular basis. And by "duty," I mean staggering up to the Commissary check-out with a basket of Mezcal handles and a fistful of Marlboro coupons.
Who are these people, really?? :confused:___:D

Maj. Chritian St. Harper:
As another son of a well-connected billionaire, I was in the same Guard unit with George Bush. We served our golf cart polo squadrons proudly – and you better believe the President when he says that his rubber stamp "honorable" discharge explicitly confirms that our service wasn't a laughable farce.
Thru all this, I am becoming doubtful of the integrety of those interviewed, well, at least the real ones....oh yeah, and the alive ones :)

And look at this ...another painting.......isn't anyone in this list real?

Yeah, well crap...look whose next:
The guy whose still looking for a wasted mind, or something or something.
I thought the last public thrashing would have kept him in the golf club house a lot longer........

Danforth J. Quayle:
George W. and I both weathered Vietnam in the Guard. And while we never met back then, I do remember how right after I bombed the VP debate with Lloyd Bentsen, George threw me against a cement wall backstage and screamed, "Quayle, you remind me of this stupid F*** from my old unit in 'Bama!"
Poor guy, what is imaginary and what is real. sigh! :D
This must me a 'pity' witness..........;)

sigh!.......this is the tenth witness.
I feel badly for GW in the way he was remembered.
I hope the above can search their memories and try
to find some redeming qualities during their brief encounter
with the future Prez.

Speaking of 'brief' encounters, I am saddened to also list from
http://www.whitehouse.org/news/2004/021104.asp
this tenth individual.
I can only imagine that their encounter was during GW's period of substance abuse.
Personally, I've never been that intoxicated, so GW must have really been on a bender, as in blind drunk?

Ms. Randi Ryder:
Oh he was in Alabama, all right. I remember like yesterday him snorting a line that went clear from my tushy to toenails on a cold metal picnic table out back of a bar in Tuscaloosa. Now, if you could get the boy to drop his drawers, I'd be extra positive. I never forget a d***.

Just clicked on this thread out of interest as he's not 'my' president. Though it might be interesting to learn the extent of military service attained by all those calling Bush a draft dodger.

I undertsand that EdGreene served two tours in Vietnam that ended with him being discharged as a result of injuries sustained. But what of the other left leaning posters here ? Did they serve, did they have 'the mother of all hangovers', a bad leg, or a note from their mum that kept them out of 'The Crotch.'

Of course nobody is obliged to state what they did / did not do - yet it would help clarify whether they were speaking from a position of authority ... or whether they were merely borrowing Al Firdaus's pom poms and dancing on the sidelines. :p

I must confess to having a vested interest in this, as I explained to Angelize56 the school I attended 72 / 73 (on an airbase) was daily picketed by teens / twentysomethings who were preoccupied by the injustice of what was happening in S E Asia. They called themselves pacifists - yet thought nothing of stoning a school bus. So clearly no element of hypocrisy there

Strange though that so many 'Baby boomers' who "missed their own chance" in Vietnam are so quick to judge on a war that, thirty years later, they are too fat, too lazy, and too old to fight.

Hello RSM and thanks for the comments, I guess :confused:__:D

You keep bringing up your educational background and it seemed a struggle, sorry to hear.
My own educational background appears to be entirely different.
My high school had nothing in the way of protest by 1964 when I graduated and the University I attended had no 'liberal' element in the science divisions, at least while I was there. Things change, but that's the way they were for me :)
Perhaps not being exposed to extremism at an early age allowed me to view both right and left extreme political positions as being nothing other than the intent of those followers to impose their version of tyrany in their quest for power and wealth.
At least your open in admitting your extremist politics.
And I do give you credit that you're willing to kill for it.......:)

Well that is very nice of you, I'm positive that LAN will find the humor enjoyable as well  . But I didn't see a denial of the financial interest in whitehouse.org. Huummm.....Maybe using political chicanery(sp?) to promote a financial interest? Could that happen? Nah! LMAO :D

Stoner,

A struggle ? To be 4 yrs old sitting on a school bus that was stoned ... well geee I wonder why I remember that ?? Exposed to left and right wing politics ? Nope - only left. Can't have kids choosing now can we

Glad I'm admitting my extremist politics ? Hmmm - people of the left treated us with hostility, people of the right (well military personnel ) encouraged us to make the most of what we had. Curious why I would drift that way.

Still you're right - I am definitely to the right of Mulder, and waaay to the right of Mr Brumb.

Anyway I look forward to hearing the extensive military records of those who regard Bush as a Draft Dodger.

Damn, that's the second time in two days I've been called (directly and indirectly) a leftist. This is not happening. What would my sainted mother say?

Listen here you Spotted Dick eating Limey ( :D ) I voted for Reagan four times in the presidential elections and I dated G. Gordon Liddy's daughter (while he was in jail, I'm not stupid) so watch who you accuse of being a leftist!

(This was all in jest, he was out of jail. )
