WindowsXP - Dell 8250 -. I have had this computer for 6 weeks. I have run it's chkdsk a few times - AOK. But, when I go to the defrag part, I wait for an analysis and each time the analysis for a defrag comes up with "unnecessary to defrag now".

I find this difficult to comprehend or accept. I wonder if a program such a DiskKeeper with a supposedly good defrag program is the way to go. r.s.v.p. missfuffy

XP defrag, especially if you have ntfs thinks that defrag is not needed until over 20% of files are fragmented.

Ignore the not needed message and press defrag. It won't do any harm and can only do good

Hi, If you wanted to use Diskkeeper there is a free version. According to the burp it does the same as the paid for version except for scheduling.

It might make you happier to use that. Peace Mal

Hi, The ccountry where I was born is not very interested in cricket. I think we had one team at least before I left.

It's main occupation is stopping England from falling into the sea.

We also specilaise in throwing coal at Englishmen. Peace Malcolm
