When trying to activate my long time ago set-up guest account, I keep getting a pop-up saying that the user selection has been deactivated by "Client Services for NetWare" and that this should be de-installed before reactivating user selection. I do not remember installing it and can not find any files/programs leading to it. Who can help??

thanks, chris28

'Tis true- http://www.5starsupport.com/xp-faq/1-79.htm

NetWare can be uninstalled, there is even a Novell removal tool which I have used once and it worked fine.

NetWare may have been installed by someone else? It's a networking protocol, like the Client for MS networks.
Part of Novell software.

The above will help you understand the difference between Disabling the Guest account and turning it off, and shows how to Enable it.

Did you originally have a network adapter or was the PC part of a Network, either Home or business?

Did it originally run Windows XP? The guest account is Disabled by default in XP but you can change that.

This may help:

It can be a little confusing but you should figure it out.
