I have Win2k running on P4 with 528 Ram. I use Organizer 6.0 and Act2000 (both data base programs) When I exit these programs, it takes nearly 20 Seconds to close.
I have the identical programs with the same data on my Compaq at work (833mhz – Win98) and they close instantly when I exit them. I wonder if there is a tweak or if the problem is inherent with W2K. I’m stumped. Got any suggestions?

looks like a caching problem :
optimize your page file, try moving it to another disk if you have one or increase the value to at least the size of your RAM

on win9x there were some caching settings you could configure in win.ini
don't know of they are still used in win2000, it depends on the application
try at least to set the minfilecache and maxfilecache identically to your settings on your win98 computer
if it won't help , it will not harm
;)
i searched for a utility to compare and configure those settings, your can find it on
