Hi guys,

Specs in the sig.

Now, i recently bought a Creative T7700 7.1 Speaker System, only rpoblem is, it wont work. Its all plugged in, but no sound comes out. When it try to play music through WMP or whatever, a little notices pops up saying:

'Wondowns Media Player could not play the device because there are no speakers attached. They may not be installed or working properly."

I know theyre working ok, they work fine if i hook them up too my Discman.
They mustnt be installed. No disk came with the package, and i cant find any drivers on Creatives Website.

Does anyone know what may be wrong - or if i need some drivers from somewhere else? Many thanks,
Blitzkrieg.

There aren't drivers req'd for Spkrs.

Check out the following from another thread I just addressed:

First check Device Mgr and see if everything is showing up and without warnings.

Check that the drivers are loaded and without error msgs.

Make sure that you have attached the sound cable from your CD player to the card.

Make sure that the sound is not MUTED.

No Windows sounds either?? Go to sounds in Control panel and preview some to see if they play.

Are you playing from CD only or ar you playing MP3's from HD also?

Can you check the spkrs with any other equipment?

Are they Powered (yes), lights on?

Try Headphones in the Card...anything?

No, nothing is in Device manager, because i cant get them connected.

No, i cant play any, because my speakers arent working.

Playing from both.

Yes, they work fine when connected to a discman, or stereo

Ill get back to on that one - when i find some headphones :)

You said, "No, nothing is in Device manager, because i cant get them connected."

I'm speaking of the sound device, not the speakers...are we on the same page? Does the sound device show up in Device Mgr?

As for "Drivers". They are the software interface between PC Hardware and the Operating System. If they are missing, messed up, or incorrect, the device will not work properly, or perhaps at all.

Also, from what you said, "sound cable... the cables are connected straight into my motherboard."

I'm expecting that you have Onboard Sound rather than a PCI add in Sound Card...Yes?

So if there really is nothing in Device Mgr related to SOUND, then you may not have the onboard sound ENABLED in the BIOS. If there ARE entries for Sound Devices, check the status of the Drivers.

What sound card are you using? Onboard sound or a PCI card of some sort?

Well, you definitely don't have a soundblaster listed. I have had no problems installing any soundblaster devices.

What is under the ? in device manager? I am betting it is the card. Try putting the disk in the drive but don't let it auto run. Expand the ? and right click on the device and tell it to update driver. Point it to your CDrom and see what happens.

I install my soundblaster that way because I don't want all the creative software, I just want my card to work.
