2002 Dell Dimension 8200


My CR ROM drive does not auto play CDs. Hour glass sometimes starts and then nothing happens. Sometimes I hear the CD spinning and nothing happens. Plase advise. Thanks.

Try this:
Double click on "My Computer". In the window that opens, right click on your cd rom drive, and click on "Properties". When that window opens, click on the "AutoPlay" tab. Click in the circle, next to "Select an action to perform". Then click on the "Restore Defaults" button. Click on "Apply" button, and then the "OK" button.

See if that puts you back, where you want to be.........
