Hi,
It seems that I am not the only one with a problem with CPanel taking over my searches. I noticed that you asked everyone else to run Hijackthis and send you the log so I took the liberty of having it ready for you. So, hopefully someone can tell me how to fix this as I can't even get anywhere with the addressbar most of the time.

Thanks in advance

Here it is:

First, download, install, immediately update and then run Spybot and/or Ad-Aware. Read the help files to familiarize yourself with how they work. I recommend you use them both since each tends to find things the other misses. Let them clean up any spyware found.

Don't skip the update step, it's important!

Then, to be doubly sure, download and run CWShredder.

If that doesn't fix things, your computer may be infected with the Qhosts Trojan. To find out, download and run the removal tool from this Symantec page.

After all of that, run HijackThis again and post a new log here.

Sorry it has been so long in replying. We have just moved into a new home and haven't been able to get on here very much. I didn't install CPanel it just showed up one day. It seems to have gone back where it came from though as I haven't seen it for a while. Thanks for your time. ;)

I do have a couple of websites. But where CPanel popped up was in my IE search session. I was just surfing the web and all of a sudden everywhere I went I ended up with page cannot be found or CPanel (home page I guess) It's been a while so the details are not as clear but it was very frustrating. I did so many different things to get rid of it that I am not sure if it was something I did or if it just went the way it came. But all of a sudden I turned on my computer and it was back to normal.

This could be just one of those usual IE malfunctions. Clearing your Temporary Internet Files or Cache should have solved the problem. As long as it is not repititive, I don't think you should worry too much. But keep your eye open for any unusual PC behaviour. You never know if some trojan was trying to get your CPanel password from you by imulating cpanel. I would recommend a thorough scan of your machine with recently updated virus definitions.
