Is there a way to recover a corrupte Excel file? The file in question will not open and causes Excel to time out. The data is in the file and I can access it by importing with a query but the information is pretty jumbled.

Dude. What version do you have?
2002 (XP) is great for recovering data from older versions.
Anyway, if you're no Excel geek, I'm pretty good at that stuff and ought to be able to get your data, if not recover your file.

It was Excel 97. Maybe I will bring it home and try to recover it in 2000.

2000 isn't as good in recovery (if I recall, it may not help at all, but ya never know).
