I've been using Ad Aware, CW Shredder and Spy Bot for some time now, regularly get all critical updates from all and microsoft and run these programs at least several times a week. I was badly hijacked before and and somewhat fanatical about invasions. Anyway, today when I check I found 86 Cool Web Registry Values, Keys and Folders. I deleted through Ad Aware, ran CW Shredder, deleted some more then spy bot which found some more. Afterwards, I again ran Ad Aware which found still more. Normally all I get are cookies and Registry values, not keys or folders. What are they, and have the trolls over at Cool Web come up with something new?

There is a new CWS hijacker that is proving to be difficult to remove. There are a lot of experts currently working on a fix for it. Let's see a hijack This log to see if you have been infected by this new variant.

Please do this. Click here to download Hijack This. Click on the Hijackthis.exe.

Click the "Scan" button when the scan is finished the scan button will become "Save Log" click that and save the log.

Go to where you saved the log and click on "Edit > Select All" then click on "Edit > Copy" then Paste the log back here in a reply.

DO NOT have Hijack This fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required. Someone here will be glad to advise you on what to fix.

*Note: When you download Hijack This Do Not download it to a temp folder or to the desktop. Create a permanent folder somewhere like in My Documents and name it Hijack This and put it in that folder.

There was a new version of CWShredder that was released this afternoon. Let's see if it will remove this. Open CWShredder and click on the "Check for update" button. Download and run the new version
If it returns post another log. We have another method to try.
