Convert FNT to OTF or TTF?

I have an old DOS program that sends FNT font files to the printer. Is there a way to convert FNT fonts to OTF or TTF?
Thanks!

If you are up to giving it another shot at sometime. Whenever you like.
I may have a simpler solution.
You have the printer that works on win 10 & or win 11? I'm not sure if both.
If we can get XP to talk e.g Win 10 we then print from XP to the printer setup on that computer.
No need to install any printer on xp.
I have tested this with xp and win 8.1.
Can't test with 10 - Comp just died
I tried the software a few years ago on my Win 7 using net use command, Printfil & DOSBox with my OKI C610. It would print but the correct fonts weren't printed or if they were, the margins may not have been correct from what I can remember.

In your test, are you printing from XP LPT1 to Win 8.1 USB?

My Win 7 computer is outside in my workroom, so after I get back from an appointment, I'll bring it inside and see what happens.

My iColor is set up on my Win 11 computer, and I know it prints regular documents, so no problem with that. I just haven't set it up to print wirelessly yet.

My Win 10 computer's HD is full, so I didn't try to set up the new iColor printer on it. No other laser is

I assume getting the XP to talk to the Win11 computer means putting the XP on wifi.

Many thanks again!!

I have connected a printer via usb to a win8.1 computer.
I have shared the printer - kept the name simple.
On XP I use the LPT1 command to connect to the win 8.1 computer.
I use the print command to send the print across the network.
I did not need to install any printer on the XP.

I think the laptop that died last night was also my Win 11 computer.
I will see if I can get a win 11 install and get XP to talk to win 11.

Does the XP have wifi? If not, can you plug a cable into your modem/router from the XP computer.
I would not buy any parts to make it wifi.

I’m probably going to order the LPT2USB cable from a US reseller AK-NORD told me about.
I’d rather keep the XP off of wifi although it is wifi-enabled.
Many thanks, and I’ll update you if/when I order the cable.

To use your cable you need to free the LPT port (back to normal)
Open Command prompt
net use lpt1: /delete
Press Enter

Thank you!
I was ready to order the AK-NORD cable, and they kindly sent me a list of tested printers. There are several HP laserjets on the list, but my HP 2200d isn’t on their list unfortunately.
I think I’ll try my HP 2200d one more time and if it doesn’t work, I’ll just type the pages as I get orders.
Thank you again for all your time and help, PeterOz, and I’ll check back in with an update.
