Anyone can suggest me how many maximum connections per IP will be good to allowed to user.

I am on a VPS server. I heared 2-3 is enough but maximum 10 will be good if downloading anything from your site. And more than this will be really bad. I want everyone able to access the site without any downtime and slow loading webpages due to connections.

Please suggest guys.

Well it kinda depends I guess. If users are constantly downloading items, like for example RapidShare, or MegaUpload, they only allow 1. But these sites are hosting millions of huge files. I think it would be best to experiment and see how it goes. I think trial and error is the best way, because each site is diffrent.

but approx how much will be fine for any site.

From my site users are download the file approx every minute but not more than 7-9 at a time and none of the file bigger than 30MB.

If i set to low.. like 5 then some users can face the problem of not opening a website. Is this possible? in any circumstances.

please also tell me where i can set a maximum number of connections per IP on a apache server because server people saying there is no such thing. You have to install a anti-ddos script then you can setup and more connections from any IP will be block.
