I am just returning from college and I have a 4 year old desktop that works fairly well, but does not have a wireless card. I am trying to connect to the internet through a router that my family owns but I cannot get it to connect. It is a linksys and we have cable internet service. Any suggestions?

Connect the computer to one of the router's LAN/Network ports.

Reboot the computer.

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD to open a command prompt.

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

Note: If Ur computer is running 98 or ME replace CMD with command.
